CHRIS RAINBOW
A stalwart of the British Country Music Scene since the mid-eighties
,Chris first started playing in bands in his teens and after a short stint in engineering switched to
Country Music full time.
The first Chris Rainbow Band was formed in 1986 . After building up a
reputation as a fine singer and performer he left the music business to work in a circus!
Making a welcome return to the music scene in 1989 Chris moved to San
Jose California to pursue his ambition to write songs ,record and perform .For the next four years
he played up and down the West Coast as well as finding regular work as a session and demo vocalist
for other songwriters.
By the end of 1993 Chris was back in the UK and had reformed his band .In
his first year playing over 250 dates , something he has continued to do
ever since.
Now writing and recording with ARENA SV Records based in the West Country
his latest album AMERICANA was released at the end of 2003 and has been extremely well
received and the track CLEVER MAN which was taken from the album has had airplay throughout the
world.
In 2005 Chris decided to take a break from working with his Band but despite
a reduced profile Chris has been much in demand
as a Solo Artist performing to a variety of audiences.
In 2008 he released the "Follow the Sun" CD as well as making some tounge in
cheek music videos.
A southern rock side project
Chris Rainbows Wild Bunch UK was started in
2007 and has been getting quite a lot of interest via
the internet.
Finally in 2009 amid all sorts of rumours and speculation Chris decided to
reform the Chris Rainbow Country Band.
"Handome" Tony White who had played drums in the band in the late '80s
returned along with Big Ted Turner on bass.
They will be gigging from june.
